Miss Donya's Triumph Over Breast Cancer & Hair Loss

In the midst of life's most daunting challenges, we often find the most remarkable stories of resilience, courage, and inspiration.


October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I am HONORED to share your stories of stick-to-it-ness and triumph. We are a group of strong, amazing women who can make it through anything when we support and love one another.


I want tell you about Miss Donya, a woman whose journey through breast cancer and the emotional rollercoaster of losing and re-growing her hair is nothing short of amazing.


Donya's journey included six grueling months of chemotherapy, followed by a year of chemo maintenance.  Alongside this painful battle, she faced SIXTEEN rounds of radiation, a lumpectomy, and a partial mastectomy. It was an incredibly challenging path to walk, and Donya stayed dedicated to her health throughout her journey.

Her hair, a symbol of her identity and femininity, would not survive the journey. Miss Donya faced the reality of hair loss from treatments.


During her treatments, Miss Donya found relief in an extraordinary act of kindness. A dear friend lovingly crafted a wig that perfectly mirrored Donya's original hair, down to its color and style. It was a lifeline of normalcy during a time when everything seemed to crumble.

Donya embarked on the journey of re-growing her hair after harsh cancer treatments. She wore braids to help with the growth process.
