Empowerment Starts Here
So far, 2023 has been a whirlwind of emotions, challenges, and triumphs for me and my family at Nae Nae's Naturals.
As we entered 2023, I found myself learning to step into the role of the sole CEO. Looking back on our past successes and experiences, I realized how crucial it was for me to keep my eyes firmly set on building the brand further.
But it hasn't been all smooth sailing.
In April, the aftermath of everything that happened took a toll on me. The stress and emotions from the past few months left me mentally collapsed and emotionally exhausted. I put aside my own healing while fighting for Terrence, and as a result, my hair became a reflection of that struggle. It was shedding, and I felt overwhelmed by the pressure to maintain it as a hair brand owner.
Desperate for a change and some peace, I decided to get braids, something I hadn't done in decades.
And you know what? It felt liberating! But as the braids grew out, I faced the daunting task of taking care of my hair again. At that point, I was tempted to just cut it all off.
And so, on my birthday, which was also our 19th wedding anniversary and marked 27 years together, I decided to embrace myself fully. I cut my hair off, and it was a relief—a true expression of reclaiming my identity.
I'm now going into the second half of my life, re-establishing who I am and wholeheartedly enjoying the journey. As a single mom and a single black woman, I'm determined to take our brand to the next level.
It's time for us, as black women, to prioritize our mental and physical health, nutrition, and weight management. We've launched the "Boost Your Growth in 30 Days Boot Camp," a safe space to connect, understand, learn, and support each other on this journey.
Stay tuned for more, and I promise you'll be inspired by what's coming next!
