Record-Breaking Sales during a Pandemic
Let me tell you about 2020, a CRAZY 😮 year for us...
Despite the challenges the world faced, Nae Nae's Naturals had its most successful year yet in 2020! The pandemic sparked an even stronger interest in natural hair care, and our products became a go-to choice for black women everywhere.
Our little black-owned hair care brand was flourishing. Can you believe we made $2.1 million in sales that year? That's 52,565 jars of the Hair Boost that flew off the shelves!
To keep up with the demand, we brought on Pastora and Karla as full-time employees, and later Teresa part-time. Our family business was growing, and so were our dreams. We even moved to a bigger house, turning our garage into the heart of our operations.
The support we received from our community was overwhelming. And with that, we embraced change, expanding with the help of agencies, Facebook ads, and e-commerce expertise. It was a leap of faith, but one we knew was essential to share our products with more amazing women like yourself.
Speaking of expanding, guess what? We started selling the Hair Boost at TJ Maxx and Marshalls 🤯! Can you imagine how excited we were when they approached us?
But just as life was on an upswing, COVID hit our family.
Terrence was in the hospital with COVID for weeks. It was one of the scariest times of our lives. I couldn't see him or talk to him, only getting updates from the nurses.
The kids got sick first, and I got it last. But through it all, we fought together, and with the help of plasma shots, Terrence pulled through.
We made it through 2021, but there were darker times ahead.
COVID was a nightmare.
